It is with much sadness that Old Penarthains advise that Rennie Dobbs passed away earlier this week after a long and courageous fight against illness. Rennie may have only played two games for the 1st XV in the 1980s but he appeared many times for the other teams in the club and was always competitive wherever he was chosen to play . He was a vibrant part of all tour parties and what he may have lacked on the rugby field he made up for a hundred times over with his musicality, impressions of Elvis and jive dancing, particularly with wife Jan. Latterly he became a keen indoor bowler in Sully where he made many more new sporting friends. All at Old Penarthians offer condolences to Jan and to their family and to all close friends at this very sad time.
