In March 2021 we posted the sad news that former 1^st XV player, Steve Bowden, had passed away tragically after a heart attack at the age of 65.  His wife Alison has now been in touch with the Club to advise us that his family are holding a memorial evening on Friday 6^th May from 7.00pm to 10.00pm at Techniquest in Cardiff.  There will be a bar and canapés, access to all the exhibits, and then some formal speeches around 9pm when Steve will be remembered.

Alison knows that Steve loved his time at the Old Pens and is now inviting anyone who wishes to remember him and wants to reminisce for a few hours to join the evening of celebration. In order for the organisers to cater for the correct numbers Alison is asking that she be informed in advance of those people who would like to attend.  Our President, Tony Crimp, who played with Steve in the second row in the 1980’s has offered to coordinate on behalf of the family so if you would like to attend on 6^th May please contact him by email on crimp55@btinternet.com by  15^th April.
