Report of Refurbishment Progress

Following our earlier notification advising that the refurbishment of the changing room and shower area was due to commence on 10th June, the Club is pleased to report that the work started on time and last Friday 5th July was the end of the fourth week of the nine week programme.

The Contractor considers that the work is progressing well and that the anticipated end date will be met.  The work undertaken so far includes:

  • all the demolition, including the wall between the two small changing rooms next to the first team changing room
  • removal of all demolition materials from site
  • installation of floor drainage
  • the removal of radiators for storage
  • the delivery of all floor tiles
  • the completion of approximately 60% of the floor tiling
  • the delivery of all the wall cladding
  • the location of the wall cladding in two of the changing rooms and part of the shower area.

Some additional work has been instructed to repair previous damage to the roofs where they abut up to the gymnasium and squash court external walls.  This work is required to prevent water ingress into the ceilings of the refurbished corridor leading from the patio area.

The main refurbishment area is still out of use by the membership but the gymnasium and squash courts are still operational. Members will be advised when the access to these areas is not available to allow the floor tiling in the corridor to be completed.

Should you require any further information about the refurbishment please contact Tony Crimp, who is a member of the Development Sub-committee.

In the meantime, thank you for your continued patience.
