Old Pens Under 7's Vs CRICC (Clwb Caerdydd)

Following the unprecedented achievement at the previous week's Tournament at Llantwit Major, the Old Pens Under 7's were eager to convert their current form into a clear win at today's home encounter with CRICC. Due to the lack of experience of the opposition, the Old Pens coaches elected to restrict the size of the match pitch and increase the player count in each team to 6, constraining the open running game favoured by the home OPRFC side.

Luke Shallis administered his unique captaincy style to the Green Team throughout their games ensuring 2 wins from 2 games. Alphie Gore proved notorious in attack on both Open & Blind sides, whilst William Bennett & James Siberry displayed an unparalleled commitment to crossing the opponent line. Harry Glover demonstrated solid hands throughout all phases of play, whilst the Try of the day was scored by Edo Abramovich, who managed to rescue a ball from a full compliment of CRICC players to dance over the line 5 metres out.

Lewys Tollerfield took the mantle for the Orange Team, and applied considerable experience to captain his youthful side to achieve 2 solid wins with an admirable tagging performance. Noah William's boots were on fire again today, with little realistic opposition as 3 tries were run over. Oliver Rapley turned in a notable first performance for the Under 7's, while William Reypert's eagerly awaited début translated into a nuclear effort from which no opposition player was safe whilst also getting his first points on the board.

The clean sweep of wins for both sides were reward enough for the Old Pens lineup's, though all players of the under 7's XV are resisting complacency setting in ahead of future stronger opposition encounters.
