Following the refurbishment of the Old Penarthians gymnasium by R&L Developments in early 2021 the newly painted area has been transformed into a modern, well-equipped facility that will compare well to any other rugby club in Wales.

The Club, with the help of Cath Jenkins of Shapewell Fitness, has invested in up-to-date equipment and weights that meet the requirements of anyone who wishes to keep fit or train to achieve individual fitness goals.

Equipment currently available in the gymnasium includes

Olympic Weights & Bars, Bench Press Rack & Bench, Dumbbells, Kettlebells, an Olympic Lifting Floor

Calf Press Machine, Lat Pulldown Machine, Pec Fly Machine, Shoulder Press Machine, Double Cable Machine (Cross Chest Pulls)

Cross Trainer, Air Bike, Pull Up Bar, Boxing Bags and Reebok Steps

The facility is available to all members of the Club for an annual fee of £60.00, plus a one-off payment of £10.00 for a door entry fob. The fee is in addition to the membership subscription that is paid to the Rugby Club or the Social Club.

Before access to the gymnasium new users of the facility will be asked to complete a ‘Gymnasium Questionnaire’ to acknowledge adherence to the current Health & Safety and Covid19 regulations.

The membership allows access to the secure gymnasium seven days a week from 6.30am until 10.30pm.

The area is not managed on a daily basis and all users are asked to respect the equipment that has been provided and to replace weights and lifting bars in the locations provided.

Members are also asked to respect other users in the gym and to adhere to all current restrictions and advice issued to ensure safety in accordance with any current Welsh Government Covid19 requirements.
